Boy doesn't show signs of deterioration, and on the contrary - more energy, the latest update with him enjoying the on floor piano.
"Mateo has been having some good days! It’s so nice to hear him laugh, tell jokes, walk around, and even do some crafts.
Amazingly, a few days ago, Mateo was motivated enough to go to the park. He went up the stairs of the playset and went down the slide twice! That same day he made TWO crafts, AND we walked around IKEA all morning.
Yesterday, he went upstairs! For us this is such a big deal. Hospice set up a hospital bed downstairs because we knew he would have difficulty going up and down the stairs after his hospitalization. Since his hospitalization, about 5 weeks ago, he has not had the strength or motivation to go upstairs. Yesterday he even got to sleep in his own bed! It was such an emotional moment for us, because we honestly weren’t sure if he’d ever go back up again.
Today, we got a chance to go to The DoSeum. He was so excited to get up and play the piano. His sisters were so excited too. I LOVE days like these. Days where, even for just a moment, it seems like nothing is wrong. Those are the days we live for. This is why we keep fighting and keep holding on. 5 weeks ago, the doctors told us he had days, maybe one or two weeks left. Mateo, our warrior, defying expectations! Thank you for the prayers and good vibes!"
